Summer Watermelon Recipe

Summer is officially upon as and this also means it’s watermelon season! Who doesn’t like a nice cold slice of fresh, sugary watermelon in the height of summer?

The idea for this recipe came simply and rather accidentally- I knew I wanted some watermelon and I just happened to have a passionfruit ripe and ready to be devoured at the same time. I thought- why not try them both together- surely they’d make a good pairing for a tropical fruit salad?

As for the lime, I thought back to how my mother always used to put freshly pressed orange juice in our fruit salad and I decided to go with another citrus fruit that I adore. Lime is such a refreshing flavor and reminds me of my favorite summer cocktails – when I tasted the first piece of watermelon with lime I told myself “that’s it, time for a revolution. This is THE new summer snack!

Watermelon  never tasted so fresh til it met that tangy kick of lime. I’m here to convince all the watermelon sceptics. Try this combo- I dare you to resist!
